Greek Plain Lactose Free Yogurt

Crafted using traditional Greek methods, the yogurt is strained according to the principles of old-time cheesecloth draining, which gives it an incredibly rich and creamy texture and one that’s absolutely free of fat. No fat at all! Requiring three times more milk than a regular yogurt, Liberte's lactose free Greek yogurt also contains twice the protein of any other regular yogurt. It’s an excellent source of energy and the perfect choice for a low-fat diet. Lactose intolerance, afflicting nearly 20% of the Canadian population is the inability to digest lactose, which is the predominant sugar naturally found in milk. Composed of two sugars, galactose and glucose, they must be separated to be digested. This is accomplished with the addition of an enzyme called lactase. Lactose intolerants do not produce enough lactase to be able to convert the lactose in milk.
